Summer Student Program
Skills for the future
The Summer Student Program trains youth ages 10 and above to be junior guides at the 1719 Hans Herr House or the Lancaster Longhouse Students participate in an orientation program and sign up to learn a particular skill; scherenschnitte, fraktur, blacksmith, gardening, food preservation, linen processing, beading, pine needle baskets, etc.
Volunteers in training
Students come one day or a half a day each week and, as visitors come to the 1719 Hans Herr House and Lancaster Longhouse for tours, the students share what they have learned with guests. Students are given period appropriate clothing to wear. Students are also encouraged to attend and participate in the Maize & Snitz Fest and any School Frolics.

Enrollment in the summer student program costs $10 per student.
