Skills for the future
The summer student program trains youth ages 10 and above to be junior guides at the Hans Herr House. Students participate in an orientation program and sign up to learn a particular skill; scherenschnitte, fraktur, blacksmith, gardening, food preservation, linen processing, etc. 

Volunteers in training
Students come one day or a half a day each week and, as visitors come to the 1719 Hans Herr House for tours, the students share what they have learned with guests. Students are given period appropriate costumes to wear. Students are also encouraged to attend and participate in the Heritage Festival.

Enrollment in the summer student program costs $10 per student.
