Field Trip Packages
We offer three basic tour options at the Museum for school groups, or other children's groups (scouting groups, for example). Option A is available to groups as small as 7 students; Option B and Option C are designed for groups of 15 or more children.
Option A
- Standard Tour
Standard Tour of the 1719 Hans Herr House through the küche, stube, kammer, attic, and cellar takes approximately
45 minutes. This tour includes a knowledgeable and personable guide who covers such topics as early Pennsylvania German
architecture, the history and doctrines of the Anabaptist faith,
colonial family life, food preparation and much more.
Option B
- House and Grounds Tour
House and Grounds Tour features a tour of the 1719 Herr House, focusing on the same topics as
Option A, plus a guided tour of the museum exhibit buildings and
grounds (including the blacksmith shop, smokehouse, and bake oven) and
a chance to learn and play colonial period games.
Option C
- Grand Tour
Grand Tour of the 1719 House and museum grounds as in option B, along with a wagon ride through the grounds and a stop at the 1835 Shaub House.

Grand Tour
$4.00 - Students through grade 8
$5.00 - Students grade 9 and above
Adult Chaperones
FREE - 1 chaperone per 8 students
$4.00 - Additional adults
Reservations
Call the 1719 Hans Herr House office at 464-4438, Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to schedule a Field Trip for your school group. Upon registration, we will mail a confirmation card to your school. Field trips usually required from 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours to completed. Please inform the office if you wish to change the time frame of your Field Trip, as we want to accommodate your time schedule.
